BMW Oil Leak
Recently at Auto Studio, a BMW 3 series was brought in after the customer experienced the car had been running rough.
Symptoms:
- Running rough
- Oil leak
What can cause a vehicle to run rough?
Low compression, spark plugs, ignition coils, internal mechanical failure and air leaks can cause this issue.
How to fix a car that is running rough?
After conducting a smoke test, it was found that the valve cover was cracked causing an oil leak reducing engine performance with rough running.
(Figure 1) shows the crack on the inside of the valve cover.
