BMW TWINPOWER TURBO
The BMW TwinPower Turbo has been installed in BMW engines since 2011 and allows more range variability while reducing CO2 emissions. Despite the name, the TwinPower Turbo is a single turbo charger that uses two separate scrolls. Essentially dividing the cylinders to eliminate any overlap period and increase performance and efficiency.
You will find the TwinPower Turbo on BMW’s 4 or 6-cylinder engines regardless of whether they are running on petrol or diesel. While the larger 8-cylinder engines use a slightly different design (confusingly) referred to as the TwinTurbo Power.
