The Mercedes Active Body Control (ABC) system is an active suspension that allows for control of the vehicle’s body motions. This allows the car to eliminate body roll in situations such as cornering and accelerating and encountering bumps.

Finding the problem

To find the cause of the problem, your trusted Mercedes technician will run a test on the ABC system. Causes of suspension problems

There can be many reasons for the ABC to malfunction, for example:

•  Electronics – As there are many components working together in the system if one of the simple electronics fails you could experience problems.
• Age and kilometers – The ABC is constantly moving and thus, parts will eventually wear down and need replacing.
• Hydraulic leak/pump failure – The suspension system is under constant pressure and if one of the hoses or seals fails, pressure can escape and cause problems.
